Trangia is a Swedish company which dates back to the 1920s.

The company is strongly connected with Sweden, and more precisely – with a small town of Trångsviken, which is the seat of the company’s headquarter and their production plant. Despite the passing years, we may still find old machines from the 1950s (carefully and lovingly maintained) working on the production line next to modern equipment. The production process is constantly improved and perfected, but it still remains not completely automated. One of the pioneers of Trangia was John E Jonsson, who together with his stepfather started a production line for aluminium pots. With the growing popularity of camping and outdoor activities in Sweden, their household production transformed into the production of portable bivy stoves.

About the company

Trangia produces light aluminium cooking sets of the kocher type, powered with liquid and gas fuels. The basic set consists of a burner, anti-wind shield, 2 pots in different volumes, a frying pan, a grip and a strap holding the whole set together. The set allows you to cook a meal for 3-4 people. Its simple, light and reliable construction will prove successful in any terrain – from your backyard to peaks of the mountains. Moreover, the production is conducted in an ecologically-conscious way with respect for the natural environment and care for lowering the company’s impact on the surrounding nature.
